Cardinal & Black

Since its birth in the fall of 1940, South Kent boys have been competing for the coveted Cardinal & Black Cup. The competition began one night when the student body leaders decided the school should be divided into two clubs in order to boost competition and increase boys’ interest in events.

At the start of each school year new boys are assigned to either the cardinal or black team, an affiliation that is held for their lifetime. Each boy is presented with a team jersey and proudly joins their team for the traditional first competition of dodge ball.
