Off-Campus Programs

While South Kent is willing to consider many off-campus, academic experiences, the school regularly offers several off-campus opportunities to interested students. Fourth and Fifth form students may apply for a summer scholarship to participate in the Visions Service Adventures . VISIONS community service programs stretch from Alaska to Mississippi, the Caribbean Islands and West Indies to Central and South America. The programs focus on ambitious community service, cultural immersion and adventurous exploration.
South Kent also participates in two exchange programs during the academic year. Approximately ten South Kent students and two faculty members participate in a Fall term trip to France and a Spring term experience in the Czech Republic.
South Kent students interested in a science-focused course of study may take advantage of the Rocky Mountain Semester program during their Winter Term. The program offers a semester long academic and wilderness program for academically motivated students. The RMS curriculum focuses on student's connections to the natural world, community and leadership skills, and rigorous academics. The semester is divided between the HMI campus in Leadville, Colorado and six weeks of wilderness expeditions in Colorado and Utah. Students receive academic credit at South Kent for their semester at RMS.
