V. 'B' Hockey

This winter South Kent School has expanded its ice hockey program to include two varsity teams and a developmental team. It is the first time in the school’s long history of playing hockey that so many players have been offered the opportunity to play higher-level hockey.

The Varsity B hockey team has been established to provide a competitive developmental team for boys who are experienced skaters. The team plays a 20-25 game schedule that includes other prep schools’ junior varsity and “B” teams, high school varsity teams, as well as club teams from throughout the northeast. The team will play Division II level schools, but is in an independent league. Team goals include the development of skills, self-discipline, commitment, pride, loyalty, tolerance, respect for others, confidence, perseverance, sportsmanship and citizenship.
