Just going through the new website and saw my name on the lost alumni list. I'm living in Queens NY and working as rehab director/Chiropractor of a large practice in Nanuet NY. I'm looking to buy/start my own clinic in the next year. I also go to school part time and should have a masters in nutrition by this time next year. I still compete in Olympic Weightlifting (although am sidelined with a torn Quad at the moment). I have also been coaching weightlifting and coached my first athlete to the olympic trials last week. She didn't make the team but did very well. My e-mail is drpnickless@yahoo.com feel free to check in. Pete

Hello all! I just received the SKS Magazine and read about the new building plans - everything looks fantastic. I am so glad that SKS is finally on the UP swing. I am living out in LA and working for a non-profit (Motion Picture & Television Fund), in the entertainment community as a fundraiser. It is a fantastic job - very interesting at times - BUT, a FAR CRY from the hillside! I hope all is well with everyone - Anyone that heads this way, give me a ring (310.869.7277)and I will be sure to show you around. All the best to everyone!

I should note that Dick Aiken '48 isn't the only alumnus to cut and split his firewood. We've heated our house with firewood for 14 years and I cut, split, and stack it all.
I'm keeping a steady speaking schedule centered on my recent books, Beyond Beowulf, ReInventing Marriage, and A Year with American Saints - see my blog at clwebber.com for my schedule.
The next two books - An American Prayer Book, and The Revised New Metrical Psalter - will be out in the fall.

New Hampshire isn't the first place to come to mind when pondering fine cuisine. Nor is a Retirement Community, but I have found that unsung nitch. I have worked at Rivermead for over 8 years now and have very few complaints. I find here the sense of community that I have not since being an active part of South Kent . As the years roll on I forget the negatives (there weren't really that many) and I embrace all of those wonderful, formative years as crazy as they may have seemed ( and yes, Pixie. I adored you--as well as all of the amazing S.K staff). With admiation, -GMD

Wow! It does not seem like so long ago we were having pizza runs! As for me, I began as pre-law and ended up in the IT industry. Go figure. Happily married to my wife Deidre now with two boys, Jake (6) and Luke (4). Living in lovely Chelmsford, MA for the past 10 years and currently hosting a Christian coffeehouse once a month. Still playing guitar and having a great time with it. I haven't been back to SKS in awhile and definitely need to make that a priority. You can find me via or email on Yahoo as ministry_through_music or via AOL as Stablecoffeehous. Also on MySpace as www.myspace.com/kurtstahl
Drop me a line folks. I travel around the nation, so if I am going to be in your area, I'd love to catch up.

I don't want to be on the Lost Alumni List, so here's the scoop.
I studied Marine Biology at UCSD for a while.
Then I became an X-ray tech in New Jersey, but never worked as one.
Studied History and Philosophy of Science at Pitt.
Finished my undergrad (finally) at Univ of Illinois.
Did Transplant Surgery Research for 10 years in Pittsburgh and Chicago and got bored with that so I went to medical school and now I am finishing my training in Emergency Medicine here in Chicago. They will let me loose on the world as a new attending in July. So, if you are feeling ill and want some really great medical care I may be working in an ER near you!
I'm also looking into more work in Wilderness/High Altitude and Expedition Medicine.(If anyone needs a team doctor)
You have been updated!

Just a note to encourage everyone to go out and see a SKS hockey game. My son, Jolyon 88, and I just watched the team play at the Belmont hill tournament in Boston. The team has that great hallmark of a well-coached hockey team, they consistent set up their offense by excellent passing by the defense. All in all it was a great father son day.

There's a certain irony, I suppose, in the fact that I took Earth Science to avoid 'real science' at SKS, but that aside - in addition to my other duties promoting Harvard's interdisciplinary science efforts, I oversaw the creation of, and am now the editor of Harvardscience.harvard.edu, a new science website at Harvard. The site features news of all the sciences at Harvard's schools and affiliated hospitals, and directories of the University's researchers, sciences, centers, institutes, and departments related to the sciences. It's a 'must see' for any scientifically inclined SKS students, faculty or alums.

There is an ancient Pilgrims Walk or "Camino" that begins in various countries in Europe and ends in Santiago de Compostela in the northwest corner of Spain. The Camino has a fascinating history involving Islam, Christianity, Knights Templar, Spanish nationalism, and more. Early this year I and a friend decided to walk the Camino. On August 9, we left St. Jean Pied de Port, Framce on foot. We walked over the Pyrenees Mountains, down into Spain, through Basque country, across the hot, flat Meseta plains, and though the mountains and villages of Gallicia. When we reached Santiago de Compostela, we had walked 464 miles in 37 days and a million paces. We experienced the amazing spirit and traditions of the Camino, and made many friends. I am now editing my journal, preparing a slide show, and painting scenes. I am 68 years old.

Scott G Kuhner 1960 on Oct. 22nd, 2007
Phil Schuck, class of 1962 recently sent me a copy of a book he wrote entitled, "A Richochet From Circumstance". The book is really fantastic and completely captures the personality of the school back in the late fifties. The characters are very recognizable from Mr Grand who was "the shortest man at the school by six inches" to the football coach who said, "My name is Pa Brunt; You can call me Pa, everybody calls me Pa."
If you can get your hands on the book you wil really enjoy it. As I was reading it, I could picture every aspect of the school back then.

Some former rowers from the Class of 1978 were seen wandering around the riverbank in their competitors sweats at the Head of the Charles in Boston on October 20th. Sam Barrington and Andy Aiken rowed together for the Warren Rowing Club and Alex "Gordon" Thomson rowed in a Wesleyan Alumni Boat.

Hello to everyone on the Hillside. After working for ESPN this summer, I started law school this fall at UConn. I also became an uncle in April as my sister had a little baby girl, Carley Jane Brown. Hope to make it back to Cuyler rink this winter!

In order to catch up on what's happening in my life, I recommend that you simply watch the movie Anchorman. My life is a lot like Ron Burgundy's ... except I have cats instead of a dog.

Wow, the website looks really nice! South Kent continues to remain as one of the finest memories of my youth, and for some reason this time of the year always makes me miss the Hillside. I do wish to pay a visit sometime soon!
